Lithi Beach

Lithi beach

Lithi, village of west Chios 23,5 kms by the city of Chios, is a mastihohori ( mastic producing village ), hometown of Andreas Sigros – national benefactor – and also the place that served as a teacher Agios/Saint Nektarios around 1870. Etymology of it’s name derives from the phrase ”Alithis Limin” meaning a true port.

1,5 km by the village is situated the beautiful natural smallport Lithi-Port, that consists a fishing shelter and at the same time a hospitable beach with a combination of thick sand, small pebbles and crystal clear shallow waters. The physiology of the shore makes it ideal for games with sand! It is particularly prefferable by families with small children. After enjoying swimming, one can stroll at the shapped alley and enjoy delicious plates at it’s renowned fish taverns.  Those who remain at the beach during the sunset  will enjoy an experience of astonishing beauty.

In the wider Lithi area one can find rooms to let, hotels, restaurants, cafeterias and  mini-market. Do not miss to enjoy the delicious fresh fish and seafoods at one of it’s seaside taverns or ouzerie,  especially due to the fact that this is one of the main reasons that every Chian’ visits Lithi regularly.

Access to Lithi can occur with private means and is also scheduled a regular bus line.
